Packing Boxes Sizes and Uses
The table below shows approximately how many of the various
size boxes you will need to pack the belongings of different
size residences. See the second table below for a full listing

Small boxes should be used for small, heavy items such as
books, records, canned goods, small appliances, and small
power tools.
Medium general purpose boxes can hold pots and pans, other
kitchen utensils, toys, and other items of medium size and
weight.
Large and X-Large general purpose boxes are good for large
but lightweight items such as bedding, stuffed toys, pillows,
wicker baskets and silk plants.
*Special Purpose boxes include wardrobe boxes, dishpacks with
dividers, mirror boxes, and mattress boxes. Wardrobe boxes
have a bar across the top that can be used for hanging curtains
and small rugs and tapestries as well as clothes. Divided
dishpacks can also be used for small photos and paintings,
lightweight appliances, lamps, and knickknacks. Mirror boxes
can also hold large photos and paintings and glass tabletops.
Mattress boxes are available in all standard mattress sizes.
On local moves, CARMACK MOVING supplies plastic bags for mattresses
at no cost to the shipper.
